Design

This was the first page I ever designed on my own. InDesign was still almost completely foreign to me, but the process of figuring out how to use what I knew to design this page forced me to teach myself a lot more about InDesign.
I was initially very unhappy with the first design I came up with for this page. The process of finding a solution taught me that creating multiple different design versions to fully visualize which one would convey the message of the piece the best, while time consuming, is what ultimately results in the best designs.

The rose graphic on this page was the first time I ever tried to illustrate my own graphic; I don't consider myself to be a good artist. I wanted to put my full efforts in attempting something outside of my comfort zone, and I'm happy with the final product. This page ended up winning 1st place in MIPA's Editorial Opinion Page or Spread category.
